LICK's Golden Whiskers Awards

Volunteers!  Some folks are always doing more than their share. They are happy to be above and beyond the call of duty.  LICK appreciates them more than they can possibly know, and we want to take this opportunity to say
THANK YOU!!

  • Colleen Morgan for her one-woman rescue efforts (over 300 cats spayed/neutered last year - on her own time and her own dime!)
  • Dr. Hagen and his staff at Cologne Animal Hospital for support of local feral cat rescue efforts.
  • South Jersey Veterinary Emergency Service for bringing much needed after-hours emergency services to the area - and for treating shelter cats with the same compassion, respect, and effort they give to individual pets.
  • Valerie Laudermilch for her nearly 2-year long effort in maintaining and rescuing the colony at the MGM Carwash.  What tenacity, energy and dedication!
  • Leah Whitesell for rescuing the rescuer.  She has brought order and sanity to the LICK organization with her expertise and caring.
  • The Atlantic County SPCA for the unbelievably hard (and largely unrecognized) work they do in dealing with animal abuse and neglect on a daily basis.
  • Every LICK volunteer who keeps the barn clean and the kitties well-fed - and who loves each and every one of the cats (even Baxter the Biter): Norm, Arnette, Joan, Maryann, Vicki, Dawn, Beth, Reva, Melissa, Dan, Sharon, Sue, Lisa, Candice, Angela, Peggy, Leah and Nancy.
